My quadruped animation workflow starts with noting the up and down movement on the hips and upper body. Then I establish the overall line of action and pose with the body. To give the character more personality, I play with the curves in the graph editor.
There are two types of run cycles for a quadruped: translational and rotational gallop. I had to determine which type of run would suit the character and meet the director's need for the film.
